Descrizione

La stringa che descrive il formato del file è libera, esistono due alternative ragionevoli per codificare i formati:

  • Usare il suffisso windows con il diffetto che non è codificato centralmente e in alcuni casi è ambiguo. Ad esempio l'uso del suffisso .key per i file btrieve è un uso AR. Altri spesso usano il suffisso .dat.
  • Usare il mime-type. Il problema è che questi valori non sono ben consciuti.
